Terfens
Terfens in Tirol is a peaceful and relaxing village at the foot of the Karwendel mountains, on the sunny side of the River Inn, surrounded by superb forests and meadows and pure mountain air. Many guests appreciate its ideal altitude location and enjoy heading out on an idyllic forest hike. Centuries-old traditions are maintained in this little village – for instance you get to experience the ‘Schützenkompanie’ parade and the music chapel.
In the summer months lots of holidaymakers head off out on to the hiking trails, Nordic Walking routes and the mountain bike paths. There is a variety of sports on offer in Weißlahn leisure centre. Have a got at beach volleyball on the sparkling white sand or organise a football game on our Astroturf pitch. After a strenuous tennis match the bathing lake provides a great chance to cool down! There is also lots on offer for families at the Weisslahn bathing lake.
On the educational Planets Trail you can roam through the solar system in an hour. Discover our cosmic homeland on foot, and get an idea of the ratios of distance and scale in our solar system. This true-to-scale- educational trail is in ‘Terfner Forchat’.
A sensory path takes you to the centre of Terfen’s gem - the Maria Larch pilgrimage church – the walk takes around ½ hour. The pieces of art on the sensory path have been created by local artists and reveal memorable symbols of mankind.
In winter the lift facilities in the surrounding area provide skiing fun for any ability level. Cross-country skiing enables you to head through the snow-covered forests on two narrow skis; enjoy a fun toboggan run or enjoy the winter landscape and bring the day to an end simply and at ease over a glass of mulled wine and some Tirol fare in a cosy snug.
