Winter holiday in Silberregion Karwendel
In winter nature quietens down. Snow falls and covers the ground. The ski lifts gradually open. The ski pistes are prepared, which means that the right conditions are available for skiing in the family-friendly ski areas. Where snow doesn’t fall from the sky in sufficient amounts, the snow-making facilities ensure that in the week before Christmas the lifts can begin operations. This is a beautiful holiday week, there aren’t as many families around, but everything is ready and the season is still in its infancy. There is a lot of time in particular for guests to get personal care and attention. The ski schools in Silberregion Karwendel also have equipment available for hire. Ski tourers will be delighted with the superb winter landscape and can train for their first ski tour. Snow-shoe hikers will be especially delighted at the start of winter with the untracked paths in the Tux Alps. Those who enjoyed hiking in the summer now get to enjoy the natural surroundings in another way on the numerous toboggan runs: head up on foot, head back down at speed, or at a leisurely pace, on a toboggan. A special pleasure in winter: sunbathing. The warming rays of the winter sun provide the body with a special feeling of happiness.
There are also cultural events to experience in winter in Silberregion Karwendel. At the start of December the traditional ‘Krampusläufe’ and ‘Nikolaus’ events take place. During the four weeks in Advent there are traditional Advent markets and Christmas events in the towns which get you in the mood for festive activities.
