Ten Chapel trail

Around Schwaz there are numerous, carefully renovated chapels from the hey-day of mining. For miners these places were a place to stop-off and a place of worship after the hard and risky work in the mine. Some chapels were also set up close to the farmsteads, which saved farmers having to make the long journey into the valley to go to church, especially in winter. A hiking circuit which has plenty of views on offer proceeds along the side roads and shaded forest trails to ten of these historic places of worship.
