Nature meets culture – in Silberregion Karwendel

'Nature meets culture' is the motto for a holiday in Tirol in Silberregion Karwendel. This holiday region in Tirol became rich thanks to silver mining in the Middle Ages, which meant that lots of cultural sights were able to be built and these can still be seen today. Then there is the versatile natural surroundings in which this culture is embedded.
Experiences in nature and experiences in culture can be combined in various ways.
Hiking with culture in mind through the natural monument, the Wolfsklamm, up to St. Georgenberg monastery – where nature and culture come together directly. On a sightseeing tour of Schloss Tratzberg, and then a walk through the Buchenwald in the Karwendel up to the castle, nature and culture become one. There are so many examples where both can be experienced on a hike or a short stroll.
The culture of traditional cuisine is also not to be missed and can be experienced on a stop-off in one of the traditional Alpine lodges, huts and guest-houses.
The best thing to do is to come here yourself and get a feel for what it is we're talking about here. It is difficult to adequately describe what it feels like to have the sun on your face, and to enjoy the view to the mountains, gazing in wonder at a mine which dates back to the Middle Ages.
