Golden autumn in Silberregion Karwendel
After a hot summer the natural surroundings look forward to its departure. It is no longer as warm; the sun had provided a welcome warmth after those cold nights.
The dairymen pack up their things, the animals are prepared for the Alpine cattle drive and a somewhat sorrowful atmosphere pervades. We say farewell to summer, express our thanks for a plentiful harvest which the earth has once again provided and prepare ourselves for the imminent arrival of winter.
Autumn is lovely in the holiday region of the Silberregion Karwendel. There are traditional celebrations to mark the Alpine cattle drive and harvest thanksgiving. Everything becomes slower and more leisurely now. This is the right time to do your body and soul a bit of good before the winter. A bit of hiking and mountain biking, enjoying the last rays of the sun, and indulging yourself. Nature has a part to play - the colourful acorn trees, beech trees and the bushes filled with berries fill locals and guests alike with a genuine state of exhilaration thanks to their colours.
Real folk and 'Stuben' music and customs celebrated by local groups put the autumn festivals in a rural context. Farmers present their produce. Taste some traditional Tirol specialities.
