Silberregion Karwendel
Silberregion and Karwendel, both these names stand for the most exciting holiday areas in Tirol, which stretches from the Bavarian border across the summits of the Karwendel, right into the Tux Alps. Schwaz, the main town in this district, is regarded as a little historic gem these days and was in earlier times among the biggest towns in Austria, when silver mining reached its peak in the Middle Ages. Emperor Maximilian and the Fuggers lived here; nobles and affluent citizens created artistic treasures which are still there to marvel at today. The Schwaz people today are always on the go, are broad-minded and have a lot of empathy with the arts, trends and lifestyle matters.
