The little town of Pill, close to Schwaz, which counts 1000 souls, stretches across the towns of Pill, Niederberg and Pillberg – Hochpillberg is located at above 2200 metres altitude and is the sunny balcony of the district of Pill.

Even 200 years ago the Kellerjoch was a popular destination in the western Alps. Enjoy the unbelievable view to the superb panorama of the Alps – from Karwendel across the Rofan mountains right the way through to the Zillertal glaciers. To make your route a little shorter you could take the Kellerjochbahn train up to Hecherhaus.

In Pill the Tirol Schnapsmuseum Plankenhof is worth visiting; it is located in a 500 year-old vaulted cellar. In Bio Hotel Grafenast you can gaze in wonderment at the private collection and also take a look back at the history of skiing. Exhibitions by various international artists are also shown in the gallery. The town is especially proud of its 500 year-old parish hall, which also houses ‘Galerie im Schusterhaus’.

In summer there are countless hiking trails in the Tirol holiday region of Silberregion, waiting to be discovered by you. Lush mountain pastures, a dreamy panorama view and clear mountain air tempt you to stay a while. The town also provides plenty of options for mountainbikers and Nordic walkers, with its signposted routes.

The cold season in Pill has plenty on offer for young and old alike. Very well prepared natural toboggan runs and superb tracked high altitude slopes for cross-country skiers and of course the winter hiking paths sets every hiker’s heart racing. Skiers take the Kellerjochbahn train up and wedel back down on the pistes which have a superb panorama – looking right at the Karwendel. There are also touring options available for ski tourers around the Kellerjoch in winter time.
