Route outline
The hike heads from the parish church on the path heading east until around 1.6 km, when you take a left at the turn-off, into Schmalzgasse (follow the signpost ‘Teisslrunde’). Here follow the route markers down into the valley. After the T-junction in ‘Teisslweg’ hike left on the forest trail towards Museum Rablhaus and St. Peter’s Church. There is a chance to stop-off at a unique viewing hill, from where you can see Museum Rablhaus (awarded the Tirol Museums prize, film location for TV programme ‘Servus Hansi Hinterseer’) and St. Peter’s Church. There is also a superb viewing point here with a panoramic view. After this you then head back on the main road ‘Kirchgasse’ back to the two-towered parish church, our starting point.
If you want to make the circuit a little longer, hike from St. Peter’s Church uphill on ‘Kirchgasse’ and take a turn-off at Haus Kirchgasse 5 onto the forest trail 'Kröllerweg'. Pass by two old farmsteads near Kranzach and the tarmac road goes uphill to the main road. Take a left here and go back on the path to the starting point.
Special features: Hiking past the sights in Weerberg with the two churches and Museum Rablhaus. Take note in particular of the uniquely ‘colourful’ church towers of the parish church.
