Route outline

A hiker with plenty of endurance can climb the wonderful Lamsenjoch from the Inntal.

From Stans swimming pool follow the route markers toward St.Georgenberg/Stallenalm. Hike past the car park in Weng and then take a left. Follow this tarmac road until you reach an isolated farmstead (construction yard). From here follow the forest trail up to Bärenrast. Continue hiking along this wild and romantic forest trail up to the Stallenalm. You will soon be surrounded by the impressive, huge gravel rock faces of the Karwendel Mountains. Chamois can frequently be seen here. During the summer months the Stallenalm is open and provides hikers with some food and drink.

From the Stallenalm continue either on the forest path or head via a rough gravel mountain road following the signposts to Lamsenjochhütte (beds, campsite, opportunity to stop-off). You’ll need around 2 hours for this climb. The length of this hike makes it unsuitable for families.

This hike can also be done as a two-day tour, which makes it more relaxed and more leisurely. Possible to stay the night in Lamsenjochhütte.

Special features: The breathtaking mountain panorama and also the cosy lodges make up for the long ascent.
