Route outline

You can park your car in the car park at Kolsassberg local authority offices. From the car park head around 200 metres along the trail up to Rettenberg Ruins. Take a right turn there and follow the signposts for ‘Vordere Hängebrücke’. For children crossing the Weerbach the hanging bridge is great fun. As soon as you’ve crossed the bridge a very steep climbing path heads to Maxenhag farm and a little chapel. Please keep right on the tarmac road and follow the signposts for ‘Hintere Hängebrücke’. The route takes you past houses and an apiary to the forest (those who have time can visit the apiary). The steep trail heads through the forest down to the second hanging bridge on this hike across the Weerbach. Initially a quite steep path takes you through the forest, then through meadows up to a farm. The tarmac road, which heads in a north-easterly direction, takes you to Hotel Jägerhof. From here, head along the path downhill to the starting point.

Opportunities to stop for refreshments: Hotel Jägerhof or just beneath the starting point at Restaurant Hofer Stub´n.

Special features: The hanging bridges are an adventure for children. However remember to take care they can be slippery!
