Hiking with children

Children love to go hiking – when they get to go on suitable hikes, where they don’t hike in a tedious manner, but get to learn something. In Silberregion Karwendel hiking with children is really great fun. There are lots of short hikes where they get to discover something interesting ‘incidentally’. On the Planet Trail in Terfens all the interesting facts of the planets are revealed in a good hour’s walk through Talwald. In the next town, Vomp, there is a climate trail. There you can go on a short, sunny hike with children on the Vomperberg and notice boards provide information the climate and the changes to it. In the middle of the Karwendel in the Eng there is a themed trail about the Karwendel and Engalm. Children and adults can get information here about how the Ahornboden came about, how the Alpine lodges are managed and the dairy in Eng.
This hike with children combines learning about the culture of the region and the fascinating natural surroundings of the Silberregion. Families find the natural surroundings in the Wolfsklamm ravine equally sensational. Meanwhile you can head up to St. Georgenberg monastery on a secure path. The Senses Path on Hochpillberg is also set in the midst of natural surroundings, where works of art along the path provide stimulation for your soul – children will love the stream which runs alongside the path. There are also lots of natural Alpine hikes to beautiful Alpine lodges and meadows on the mountains.
Prams can also be used on a few of the hikes in Silberregion Karwendel.
