Rules for cycling
Ensure your own safety and pay attention to the following rules for cycling:
- Always ride at controlled speed and anticipate bends, since there may be obstacles at any time (e.g. potholes, stones, branches, temporary stored wood, grazing livestock, cattle grids, barriers, tractors and forestry machinery, authorised vehicles)
- Watch out for fellow riders, hikers & pedestrians. Only overtake at
- walking speed.
- Be mindful of the level of difficulty of the route; correctly assess your experience and ability as a cyclist. Protect your head with a helmet and check your equipment before heading out on each bike tour (brakes, bell, light).
- Stop at barriers and please accept that some paths are primarily for agricultural and forestry use.
- If necessary close cattle gates.
- Be mindful of the natural surroundings and wildlife, do not deviate from the marked route, avoid riding away from the paths and finish your bike tour before dusk.
- Please do not leave any rubbish behind.
- On extremely difficult and dangerous single trails the following additional rules apply:
- Please note - You ride at your own risk and should only ride at walking pace - climbs are not checked.
- Be mindful in particular for hikers, grazing cattle and wildlife.
- On no account should you ride away from the steep track.
- Be mindful of the dangers in the Alps.
