In the Karwendel the limestone peaks are a delight, with their strange shapes and the way they protrude skywards vertically. Depending on the time of year and the daylight the Karwendel has its own special atmosphere. The Karwendel is a nature park and along with holiday-makers there are also lots of plants and animals here. In the Karwendel, along with the quiet spots, there are also real hotspots such as the Engalm and Wolfsklamm, which no-one should miss.

Nature in the Tuxer Alps
The natural surroundings in the mountains of the Tuxer Alps are very different. Here it is the mountain forests which stand out. Swiss stone pine is native to this area which is a wood of choice for bedrooms, since its aroma has a sleep-enhancing effect. In June and July the Tuxer Alps are appealing especially with the many Alpine roses. This is when the mountain slopes become really crimson.
