Events in Silberregion Karwendel

Events during a holiday in Tirol are for many guests the cherry on the cake. There are a variety of events throughout the year to suit every interest, and every season.
In Silberregion Karwendel the ‘Herz – Jesu’ festival remains a very traditional celebration, particularly in Weerberg. Fires are lit on the mountain peaks during the time around the solstice, and these can also be seen in the valley. Throughout the summer the serenades concerts in the Franciscan monastery are a fixed point in the events calendar in the Silberregion Karwendel. Those of you who appreciate this should also enjoy the organ concerts in Schwaz’s parish church. Jazz lovers also come to Schwaz in summer to the Outreach Festival. Those who enjoy the sounds of New Music also visit the world-renown Klangspuren Festival in Schwaz.
The traditional theme continues at the Tirol evenings and at the concerts on the town square. In lots of towns in the Silberregion Karwendel music clubs and ‘Trachtenvereine’ perform original music and ensure the atmosphere is fantastic.
Autumn is time for the Alpine cattle drive, when the cows come back down from the Alpine meadows to the farms, and farmers celebrate with guests and locals. There are often festivals on the Alpine pastures in the autumn. One fixed event highlight in late autumn is the Classic Weerberg race.
In winter the Christmas markets and Advent markets in the region are not to be missed. Here are more recommended events:
