Children’s Olympics, pyjama parties, trip to a farm

Do you have children? Then leave this page!

Only joking! Have a read – you should know what lies in store for the little ones in Silberregion Karwendel.

Streams, ravines, forests, Alpine meadows – the whole region is one giant adventure playground. There is also a range of paradisiacal play areas at each type of accommodation. One thing is beyond dispute: if your children are happy … then your holiday plans are sure to work out well.

Four qualified children’s supervisors provide guest children with a programme of events in the ‘Familiennests’ in Stans and Weer which is rich in diversity. It should also be pointed out that child supervision is free of charge for all guest children in Silberregion Karwendel.

So, dear parents, if you want to take part in the programme of events for adults while you are on holiday, your children will be well looked after and are in capable hands.

From mountain adventure days and farm visits, to pyjama parties to children’s discos, the programme of events in ‘Familiennests’ has lots on offer. There are also sporting activities such as swimming and bowling championships, sample horse rides, mini-golf tournaments and children’s Olympics. Boredom can go elsewhere.
Here in the ‘Familiennester’ we don’t know the meaning of the word ‘boredom’.

In addition to the ‘Familiennester’ in Stans and Weer, there is also specially inspected family accommodation in Schwaz, Gallzein, Buch, Kolsassberg and Weerberg. Play areas, family rooms and child-friendly facilities, among others, are a pre-requisite to be designated ‘Familiennest’ accommodation.

This starts quite simply with the additional features (rooms which have connecting doors, socket safety covers throughout the living area, beds for children, cots, a children’s WC seat, and a potty), and includes special information on the programme of events for children and teenagers. Being able to hire prams and baby back carriers for mountain hiking, tables for crafts and for drawing along with information on babysitter services are further aspects which make up accommodation which is deemed to be family-friendly. And if it’s a farm then there are other attractions – petting, feeding and looking after the animals, helping the farmers with their tasks  …

And in the Silberregion Karwendel there is a living (and talking) mountain – Karwendolin. It is the mascot for the region and wins the hearts of children straight away. What does Karwendolin look like? Like a mountain peak of course. Like a mountain peak with a face. And with legs, meaning it can walk around too.

If you want to learn more it even has its own homepage (www.karwendolin.com) where it presents itself: ‘My name is Karwendolin and I come from the Silberregion Karwendel in Tirol. My home is centrally located between the precipitous chalky peaks of the Karwendel mountain range and the gentle rounded tops of the Tuxer Alps. Set in the midst of this breathtaking, often untouched and mysterious landscape, there are 11 traditional Tirol villages and historic Schwaz.’

Tip: those accept Karwendolin, this unusual Internet character and children’s favourite, on to their friends’ list on Facebook, will be kept up to date with the latest goings-on and will also learn something about this sporty, original, adventure-filled, historic and culturally interesting holiday region.
